How does a trip to sunny Spain sound? You can get there without leaving home with Sharon Aaronson’s new solo, Costa del Sol. This late-intermediate solo is written in the key of A minor and 4/4 time. The syncopated rhythms capture the Spanish style and provide rhythmic interest throughout the piece. In A-B-A form, the allegro A section contrasts nicely with the adagietto B section that also features a lyrical melody line. The tempo changes, precise dynamics and rhythmic syncopation help to create a solo that students will enjoy playing.
