A Little Blue

Beginning students will be thrilled to recreate the sound of the blues. Both hands in this Middle C position solo have accidentals typical of the blues style, with the melody moving from one hand to the other. Opportunities for using the pedal are few enough to make them easy to master. Register changes make this solo useful for getting students moving around the keyboard as well. The moderately slow tempo allows time for pulling all of the elements together for a convincing performance.
