Stormchasers

Written in 2004 for the remarkable Ladue 6th Grade Middle School Band in St. Louis, Missouri, Stormchasers is designed to introduce students to the concept of cut time. The piece alternates between sections with 4/4 and cut time markings. The piece opens with a rhythmic motif that appears in almost every measure of the piece.
