A Take On Sephardic Time

The composer writes: Some years ago a friend of mine had been studying Sephardic song. Although I had heard him sing it on various occasions, it was the last time, at the counter of a market bar in Madrid where he gave a small impromptu concert, that the song Yo m’enamorí d’un aire, struck me with the full force of its beauty. It was then that I decided to base this violin solo on the song.
