Ashford Castle

Opening with a dramatic fanfare that appears as a unifying element, this highly descriptive work combines lovely Irish folk tunes with exciting original material. After a restatement of the fanfare, a jig-like melody in 2/4 meter dances through a D.S. which returns to the original fanfare to dramatically close the work. Ashford Castle is a spectacular structure perched on the northern shores at Lough Corrib in County Mayo, Ireland. (Grade 2—Easy Medium)
