I. Be-Boppin’ Bourée, II. Bittersweet Berceuse, III. Brazilian Bagatelle
This triad of “B’s” explores a variety of styles, meters and modalities. “Be-Boppin’ Bourée” is a juxtaposition of 17th century bourée and 20th century swing styles, complete with walking bass line. “Bittersweet Berceuse” weaves between major and minor, giving an uncertain sense of modality. “Brazilian Bagatelle” is characterized by Latin American rhythms and is infused with quartal harmonies. Your students will experience a balanced diet of both left and right hand challenges in this eclectic presentation.
