Cheyenne Cañon

Written for Dan Bell and the Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School Symphonic Band, this work was named by the students for a nearby canyon. Cheyenne Cañon presents a wide variety of musical styles from the mystical opening measures through the loping double time feel of the exposition to the melancholy strains of the lyrical middle section. The tempo continues to increase in the final section, propelling the work to its exciting final measures.
