Danzón No. 2

Both the Danzón No. 2 and Conga del Fuego Nuevo were popularized in their original orchestra versions through performances and recordings by Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. The Danzón has attained the status of a true orchestral hit. The transcriptions for band – based on two very different Cuban dance forms – could easily bookend a concert. Dur: 9:00
