In addition to being one of the greatest film composers of all time, John Williams has enjoyed a special relationship with The President’s Own U.S. Marine Band. In honor of the band’s 215th anniversary, Mr. Williams composed a work specifically for this storied ensemble. Casually described as a curtain raiser, For the President’s Own is a spirited work that offers virtuosic challenges for every section of the band and represents a stunning addition to the repertoire for mature bands.
