Gateway Overture

Gateway Overture was commissioned by Blackhawk Middle School (Bensenville, IL), under the direction of Mr. William Winters. This work is an overture-style piece that has faster and energetic parts, as well as slower and more lyrical passages, so that students can develop multiple styles of playing. The town of Bensenville, IL has the motto “Gateway to Opportunity,” and the composer, R. Christopher Teichler, hopes to remind young musicians that the future holds new and exciting opportunities.
