Kuhlau: Allegro Burlesco, Opus 88, No. 3

Very much like a “Scherzo,” the “burlesque” style of this piece suggests musical humor, in light, dance-like classical patterns very typical of Kuhlau’s piano works. It is written in A-minor, with melodic scale work, grace notes, and a finger-pedaled broken chord accompaniment.
