Night Thoughts

Nicholas Maw is one of Britain’s most respected composers and his 1982 composition Night Thoughts for Solo Flute is a superb example of his masterful and sensitive writing. The flute is calming and expressive, despite rapid runs, perfectly evoking racing thoughts and quiet contemplative moments of night time. Dedicated to, and first performed by, Judith Pearce at the Wigmore Hall, London in June 1982.
