Passamezzo Antico

Brass Quintet
The Passamezzo Antico was a dance in duple time (resembling the pavane) that was popular during the Italian Renaissance and was known throughout Europe in the 16th century. This version of the dance by Nicholas Van Slyck begins with an introduction that is followed by six variations before finally stating the theme in whole as the ending.
