Tender, nostalgic, gentle, thoughtful, wishful — all describe this very playable, very listenable solo arrangement of a favorite American folk song. Carrie Kraft has captured the essence of personal longing in the lovely melody. Sometimes there’s a solo voice, sometimes a duet, sometimes luscious harmonies. There’s a touch of homesickness implied with the unexpected fragment of ‘Dixie’ that slips in.
