Spindler: Sonatina in C, Opus 157, No. 4

This light and joyous 2-movement work makes a good introduction into classical style for the intermediate level pianist. The opening Allegro is dancelike in its rounded binary form (ABA) and contrasting legato and staccato phrasing. The closing Vivo movement is a spirited rondo (ABACA) with nice shifts in dynamics and moods, and great opportunities for classical expression and touch.
