Sugar Hill Penthouse is the final movement of Ellington’s Black, Brown, and Beige album from 1943. This walking ballad features brilliant orchestration, and a palette of tonal colors that is unmatched. Solos for baritone saxophone, tenor, and trumpet section soli. The final sax soli, with clarinet lead, is devastatingly beautiful.
