Summer Evening

The D major lyrical melody in the opening section is contrasted nicely with a chordal middle section in the key of B-flat. The 2 vs 3, double thirds, and extended L.H. arpeggios require the skills of a late intermediate pianist. The andante con moto tempo makes it great preparatory literature for the Chopin nocturnes.
