Students explore 6/8 meter and hooked bowing in this delightful arrangement of a Newfoundland folk song. Written in the exotic Dorian mode (E minor with a raised 6th scale degree), the tune is also influenced by the Irish and Scottish music traditions (directors may notice motifs from the Irish fiddle tune Swallowtail Jig here and there). A lighter selection with an infectious dance character!
