Valse Moderne

As the title implies, this waltz is contemporary in style and sound. In D minor, the mildly dissonant harmonies and slight chromaticism in the melody create an appealing sound that intermediate students will like. The right-hand melody offers a wonderful opportunity for lyrical, expressive playing while the left-hand chords are an excellent source for analysis. Together, they create a charming solo with lots of performance potential.
